Belarus’ NOC president visits sports facilities in Russian Primorye

On 28 September a delegation from Belarus led by President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Viktor Lukashenko visited some sports facilities of the region during their visit to Russia’s Vladivostok.

The Belarusian delegation got familiar with the educational process at the Primorsky State School of Olympic Reserve. The institution runs programs in 11 sports.

The international rowing center Russky Island Sports Club is a new modern facility in Vladivostok where many Russian rowers hone their skills. The center hosts competitions of various levels. Belarusian athletes are considering using this facility to hold training camps ahead of competitions in the Asia-Pacific region.

One of the main centers of cultural events in Vladivostok is the concert and sports complex Fetisov Arena used by regional hockey teams. The complex can accommodate more than 5,500 spectators. The Belarusian delegation was briefed on the uses of the arena and its advantages.

The delegation of the NOC of Belarus and the administration of Primorye Territory of the Russian Federation agreed to expand cooperation and to devise new projects in physical education, sports and the Olympic movement.
