MILESTONES in the history of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus
22 March 1991 - NOC of Belarus was established (the NOC Statute was approved, Vladimir Ryzhenkov was elected NOC President).
9 March 1992 – NOC of Belarus was recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as a temporary member.
21 September 1993 - NOC of Belarus was officially recognized by IOC (the 101st IOC Session in Monaco)
12-27 February1994 - participation in the XYII Olympic Winter Games (Lillehammer, Norway), for the first time as an independent team.
33 Belarusian athletes competed in 7 sports disciplines and won two silver medals:
I. Zhelezovsky - speed skating
S. Paramygina - biathlon.
19 July – 4 August 1996 - participation in the XXYI Olympiad (Atlanta, USA).
144 Belarusian athletes competed in 21 sports disciplines and won 15 medals:

13 - 28 August 2004 - participation in the Games of the XXVIII Olympiad in Athens (Greece) 151 Belarusian athletes competed in 23 sports disciplines and won 15 medals:

On 25 November 2004 at the Olympic Assembly, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was unanimously reelected President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, members of the NOC new composition were elected.
10 -26 February 2006 - participation in the XX Olympic Winter Games in Turin (Italy) 28 Belarusian athletes competed in 7 sports disciplines. The silver medal was won by Dmitri Dashinski – freestyle (aerials).
08 – 24 August 2008 – participation in the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (Beijing, China).
177 Belarusian athletes competed in 26 sports disciplines and won 19 medals:

Thus, since the foundation of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian athletes have participated in 8 Olympic Games – four winter and four summer editions.
77 Belarusian athletes became Olympic Champions and medalists. They won 72 Olympic medals: 10 gold, 23 silver and 39 bronze ones.
