Awards for the Best Athletes of Belarus

On January, 6, 2010 the awarding ceremony of 10 best athletes, the best coach and the best teams of the Republic of Belarus took place at NOC Olympic press-centre “Vancouver 2010”.
The awardees were congratulated by the first Belarusian Olympic champion Sergei Makarenko, NOC Vice-President Alexander Medved, NOC Director General Jaroslav Barichko, NOC Secretary General George Katulin and others.
The following awardees were present at the ceremony:
Roman Petrushenko and  Vadim Makhnev (Canoe/Kayak) – the best athletes of the year 2009, Denis Garazcha (Canoe/Kayak), Anastasia Novikova (weightlifting), Melitina  Stanuta (rhythmic gymnastics), Sergei Shundikov (judo), Vladimir Shantarovich – the best coach of the year 2009, Alexander Zubkovsky – the category “ The Best Team of the Year 2009”, Maxim Skavish – the football player of the team BATE (Borisov).
