The international tournament on free-style wrestling on prizes of Alexander Medved will take place in Minsk

The 49th international freestyle wrestling tournament for the prizes of Alexander Medved, three-time Olympic champion, will be held in the capital Sports Palace (Ave. Pobeditelei 4) from August 9 to 11.

It is planned that the competition will be attended by the representatives of 14 countries, more than 200 athletes.

Wrestling fans will see athletes from Bulgaria, Hungary, India, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Russia, Romania, USA, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine on the carpet.

Many teams will be represented by the first numbers of their national teams.

This tournament is the general review of forces of the Belarusian wrestlers ahead of the World Cup which will take place in September, 2019 in Nursultan (Kazakhstan).

The competition for medals will be held in ten weight categories for men and ten for women.

The Republic of Belarus at this tournament will be represented by 20 representatives of women's wrestling and 34 wrestlers of freestyle.
The leaders of the Belarusian national team will participate in the tournament.

57 kg – Vladislav Andreev (World and European Championships medalist)

65 kg – Georgiy Koliev (European Championships medalist)

70 kg – Denis Maksimov (European championship medalist among juniors)

74 kg – Karpach Andrei (European Championships medalist), Nurikov Azamat (European Championships medalist)

86 kg – Pogosyan Arkady (World Championship medalist among cadets), Chitadze Roman (European championship medalist among juniors)

92 kg – Ivan Yankovskiy (World and European Championships medalist)

97 kg – Khromenkov Denis (champion of Europe among youth, the prize-winner of superiority of the world)

125 kg – Pesnyak Vitaliy (champion of Europe among youth)

Women.

50 kg – Violetta Chirik (champion of Europe among juniors), Ksenia Stankevich (European Championship medalist)

57 kg – Iryna Kurochkina (II European games champion, World championship medalist)

62 kg – Veronika Ivanova (I European games medalist, European Championships medalist)

65 kg – Christina Fedorashko (European Championships medalist)

76 kg – Vasilisa Marzaliuk (two-time European games champion, multiple world and European Championships medalist).
